LightWord Wordpress Theme moves to andrei-webdesign.com
Hi all,
as i have planned to release additional wordpress themes in the future, i decided to set andrei-webdesign.com as my new homepage for free wordpress themes. At the moment, you will just find information about my current theme called LighWord on this website, but be prepared for future releases.
The page is still under construction, so wait and see until everything is up and running
Best regards,
Andrei!

Hi Andrei,
I recently downloaded your LightWord theme and I love its great design. Very clean and elegant.
I was wondering how I could change the width of the page? I need to embed an excel spreadsheet into the page, but need the page to be wider or it won’t fit. Is there a way to do it?

Hi, I tried LightWord but discarded it because it doesn’t display correctly the characters ‘é’, ‘í’, and similar. I hope you can fix this.

@Colin
I am currently working on it.
@Andrés
This is a Cufon problem, should be solved with Cufon settings from theme panel (Disabled or Extra).

Whats the possibility of incorporating drop down menus? Or should I look towards other options/plugins for my page navi?

Hey it’s me again,
I tried to split the list categories into two columns but i still don’t get it, i don’t know why.
I edited the category section in “sidebar.php” but nothing happens, i also deleted all the text inside de the if statement and my web worked like if nothing happened.
I need to edit this line:
for this one:
to split categories into two columns, do you know what’s happening?
Thanks for your help!

Sry for bothering you again,
about the line is the “wp_list_categories” one.
I forgot, i also make a text widget with the splitted categories and didn’t worked, in the web just showed one column, the second column was lost.
I really liked your theme, but i need to split categories.
Again, sorry for bother you, i appreciate your time for reading this.

I very much like your theme! There is only one thing I cannot seem to figure out: is there any way I can make children pages show up under the parent page on the site? I would have expected that a menu showed up, but right now the child page is nowhere visible.

Oops – I just discovered something more: The northern Germanic letters æ, ø and å are not supported in post titles. They are simply cut out. I have tried to put in the html values for these œ æ å but the result is the same – they simply don’t appear on the site. They look fine in the Post-Edit list!
Cyrillic letters aren’t supported in the tltle either!

@Nicolai
You changed the cufon settings? This should fix the header problem.
What do you mean with children and parent pages? Children pages are not automatically linked from the parent page if you are looking for this – you need to create the link on your own. (You can assign parent pages in the “add new page” form on the right side)

Andrei:
Your theme is great! Thank you for your effort. I’d also like to have the ability to change column width but it is really good. Thanks.

I love your theme and appreciate all the effort you’ve put into it.
Upon creating a post the other day which uses the <!–nextpage–> feature for breaking it up into multiple pages, I realized that your current placement of wp_link_pages(); is a bit unintuitive for someone to use without explicit prompting in the post.
This is mainly because it’s sort of separated from the post by being put after the “enjoy this post”, “about this author” and tags, as well as because there’s not something like “Page:” before the page numbers.
I went and edited single.php, page.php and index.php’s templates on my site, if you’re interested in seeing the results.
I’m wondering if this change is something you’d consider making a default, as I think it’s a major usability improvement.
Thanks again for all your hard work! I’m looking forward to your future updates and new themes.

Hey, just stopping by to report a small bug.
If you have comments turned off for a post, the anchor tag for the “Off” text is not closed, causing display problems in opera and some variants of firefox.
It’s a pretty simple fix in the functions.php file. – just add after (’Off’,'lightword’)

I would like to suggest some features:
1) An option in admin panel to add custom CSS, which would be loaded on the page (in the header file), so if we update the theme then the changes dont get lost
2) An option to highlight author and admin comments
3) Please keep a changelog in readme file as it helps the user.
Thanks!

@ andrei: I use Ubuntu 9.04. It is probably a font-thing. I’ll look into it and see if I can up with a css-solution that won’t screw up the rest.
